Family of five stopped here for breakfast - only option at the Commons. The food was very good and they made a great latte. Enjoyed the breakfast bagel and breakfast burrito. The only problem was that the AC wasn't working and it was a very warm day. Otherwise, would definitely return for sandwich or breakfast.

We stopped in for a mid-afternoon coffee. I ordered the chai and thought there wasn't enough spice to it. My husband ordered the Diablo which has Cayenne and Chocolate. He told me he didn't like it but I chalked that up to the fact he's never had a coffee with cayenne pepper before. I tried it and I thought it was too sweet with too much cocolate, in comparison to others that I've tried. The guy working the counter was really nice, even though he was busy. I liked the decor of it and it's a nice spot to sit down and relax for a few.

Proportions of food are small for what you are paying, service was terrible, waited 25 minutes for my salad, turns out they put it in a to-go container, put it on the counter and forgot it. Meanwhile the other three of my dining companions had received their food, and two staff had visited our table trying to figure out where my order had been placed. Both baristas disregarded that there was a problem, and ignored me, and refused to make eye contact. Childish. Unfortunately this is not my first poor experience here. Will not be returning.

I had a good vanilla latte here, and my husband had a yummy hot chocolate. I like the environment, and the staff was friendly.

I don't make it over to this side of the town often but I stopped in for a coffee and a late breakfast. I was served by an extremely nice and enjoyable barista named Jamie. The coffee drink she made was one of the best I've had in a long while. The breakfast burrito was pretty good as well. It's a little ways from my normal stomping ground in a trendy up and coming development but I would definitely come back more often for the great service!

I've been coming for a long time. Consistantly good breakfasts, try the Joe's TC or a bagel. Coffee is great, and their Baristas compete nationally. Best all around coffee shop with hot food in Traverse City. I love the pretentious new wait staff at their GT Commons location. The best part? I have been a customer since about 2000 and they couldn't care less. Refills are slow, and they don't know how to have a conversation, but the tattoos are really cool.

If u value your time at all, pass on this place. SUPER slow motion. Very frustrating, friggin sandwiches took forever. Quality is decent but I can't shake the wait.

I think if you only want a cup of coffee and a little something for breakfast, you'll be fine here. Don't bother going for lunch though unless you call in your order and wait 45 min to pick it up. I ordered a grilled cheese w/ tomato and a Greek salad that took 45 min to come up. And it cost $18 with a diet coke! There were two guys behind the counter who apparently knew nothing about running it. They said something about a big rush, and too many people at once. I know how that works, but I could see both of them doing nothing for most of that time. Cannot recommend this spot for lunch.

Great place for sandwiches and coffee. Located in a historic Grand Traverse Commons grounds, the friendly atmosphere and local artwork, etc. make it even better. It has a small menu but what they serve is great. Prices are about average for this type of restaurant. I highly recommend it

Writing this for all of their locations, but I've been to the one at the commons the most. Frozen chai lattes and frozen vanilla lattes are really amazing and their paninis are perfect. My only complaint is that not all of their locations carry almond milk, but it isn't a huge deal. All of their baristas really seem to know what they are doing, and are friendly and professional.

The best greek salad I've had in a long time. You get a huge salad for a small price filled with veggies, feta, beats, olives, etc. It's so good. They also have great smoothies and the customer service is great. I go here every time I visit. Side note: This is in the old Grand Traverse Insane Asylum, which they have now restored and created an amazing mixed-use building. There are condos on the top floors, offices on the first floor, and "The Mercato" in the basement. The building is gorgeous, a light yellow with Italiante and Victorian-era features. Amazing shops and restaurants, it's a must see when visiting Traverse City!
